Out of a Life of Darkness, Author Finds Her Way Back to Christ
Denver, CO (PRWeb) March 29, 2007 -- If I Only Knew Then, What I Know Now is author Rebecca S. Johnson's true story of her hell-raising life after leaving home -- the many years as a nude exotic dancer and drug addict, when she fell in love over and over again with abusive men. Brought up in a strict religious environment, her parents shielded her from the outside world. Though she was a born-again Christian by the age of fourteen, when she turned eighteen she leaped headlong into the sordid world of sex, drugs, and violence, seeking to find who she really was.
"I know what you are probably thinking. Was she crazy? No, just a person who lost her way. I overdosed quite a few times, but always survived, so I expect the Lord wanted me to be around for a reason."
Failed marriages, miscarriages, drug overdoses and run-ins with the law brought her to a point where she was truly ready to be saved. Through all the painful years, Rebecca says she always felt the presence of God, and finally came to realize that not only was she being protected but, more importantly, forgiven. If I Only Knew Then, What I Know Now chronicles Rebecca's descent into hell and the road back to Christ. "I've gone full circle," she says, "and am back home where I should be."
The book is a small but powerful account of how even those who fall the furthest can find their way back to sanity and health. Johnson says of her book: "I want people to understand that I made it through all these experiences because of the grace and protection of Jesus Christ.
